1. Who we are
This policy describes the privacy practices of goldpricesaudi.net — the independent reference platform for real-time gold prices in Saudi Arabia. Data controller: Musab Mehmood — Founder, goldpricesaudi.net. Contact: contact@goldpricesaudi.net
2. Data we process
a) Local browser storage (localStorage)
The site stores the following in your browser's local storage only — never sent to any server:
- gld_unit — your preferred display unit (gram / ounce / tola)
- gld_spot — the last valid spot price, shown with a "delayed" badge if a fresh price cannot be fetched
This data contains no personally identifying information and can be deleted at any time via your browser settings.
b) Analytics data (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate. This service automatically collects:
What is collected: pages visited, session duration, device type and browser, general geographic region (country/city).
What is NOT collected: name, email, phone number, or any personally identifying information.
IP address: used by Google only to derive approximate geographic region, then anonymised — never stored in full.

3. Third-party services
The site communicates with only the following external services:
- Gold price feed (gold-api-worker.musabfarooqi987.workers.dev): GET requests to fetch the spot price only — no personal data is sent with these requests.
- Google Analytics (googletagmanager.com): aggregated visit analytics under Google's own policy.
We use no third-party CDNs for fonts or icons — fonts are self-hosted and icons are inline SVG.
4. Cookies
We set no cookies of our own. goldpricesaudi.net does not place any cookies on your browser. The Google Analytics service above may use its own cookies governed by its independent policy. You can control cookies through your browser settings or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
5. Legal compliance
Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL 2021)
goldpricesaudi.net complies with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law issued under Royal Decree No. M/19 of 1443H. Because we do not collect personally identifiable data, our obligations are limited to: full disclosure of third-party services that process data on site visitors, no sharing of any data for commercial purposes, and maintaining a contact channel for data enquiries at contact@goldpricesaudi.net.
EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
For visitors resident in the EU or UK: we do not collect personal data requiring explicit consent. Google Analytics data is collected in aggregated, anonymised form consistent with GDPR requirements.
6. Your rights
- Delete local data: clear localStorage from your browser settings at any time
- Opt out of tracking: use the GA opt-out add-on in your browser

7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when new services are added or technical practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
